Crafts and Conversations

I am home.

I am back in Laurel... but only for a little while.

To my surprise I honestly do not mind being home.

When I was at camp for trailblazing and orientation I prayed for the Lord to show me where I needed to be and to give me some place to serve.

I was expecting another door to open instead of the Laurel Door, but the Laurel Door is the only one that was unlocked.

Our Father showed me some cool ministries that I could be a part of and start essentially.

So I did.

Our "Crafts and Conversations" bible study kicked off tonight.

We had around 18 girls show up.

I was blown away.

I did not think that many would come.

We made button bobbie pins.

It was a fun craft... looking back... I didnt make any. Oops.

We had a lovely evening.

After crafting Kristie played us a couple of tunes, I explained the heart behind the study, we had some share time, then I closed us with some thoughts.

Its time for us to start owning our faith.

to realize that we can impact and invest in others every day not just Sundays and Wednesdays.

Its a simple message really.

We've all heard it before

"if youre going to talk the talk you gotta walk the walk"

you know... cliche christian stuff.

Come on ladies lets be relevant and uncatty.

Erase all the bitterness thats left over from previous backstabs.

I dont want to be a silly girl. I want to make an impact.

This is what Crafts and Conversation is going to be about.

We arent just going to giggle about boys. This isnt a boy centered study. This is a girl centered study.

and no, its not just going to be me ranting about the issues I find important.

I want to be obedient and please the Lord.

That starts with knowing/discovering/wanting to know who we are in Christ.

We are called to more.

Its time to take it.

Im all fired up.

We also have Vacation Bible School going on this week.

I got to work in the 5th grade class.

Ive never actually gotten to work in an actual VBS class before because I always worked in Jr High VBS. Its a different world.

Im afraid my VBS career is going to be cut short this year.

I am sick.

My throat is disgusting. My tonsils are covered in white spots and its extremely hard to swallow.

My energy is also at zero.

I slept way too much today and im probably going to fall asleep with no problem tonight.

This illness is completely inconvenient.

I did go to the Doctor today because Im being pro-active.

when the nurse first looked at my red and swollen razor throat she gasped and said "oh my god..."

yeah... that was real comforting.

I dont feel any better after my shot. that only made me sleepy.

I call it razor throat because it feels like im swallowing a razor blade every time i attempt to swallow. Completely inconvenient.

Well just because im sick, its not getting the best of me.

I have too much to do.
