are we there yet?

this update is for Kristy Saunders.

"They say that home is where the heart is
I guess I haven't found my home
And we keep driving around in circles
Afraid to call this place our own

and are we there yet?

They say there's linings made of silver
folded inside each raining cloud
well we need someone to deliver
our silver lining now

and are we there yet?
home, home, home

They say you're really not somebody
until somebody else loves you
well i am waiting to make somebody somebody soon

and are we there yet?
home home home"

Are We There Yet

This song has been on loop inside my head for about a week straight now.
This week has been crazy and scrambled.
A change of plans here, a change of plans there... you know.

Thursday was "A Day Without Shoes" so i did not wear any shoes all day.
it was cool and edgy when i first started, but then after walking all day on the rough, hot concrete, i wanted to put my shoes back on.
I wanted to strap on my chacos and run around.
But then i got the point of "A Day Without Shoes"
some people don't have any shoes or paved roads.
eye-opening.

Funny story:
Friday afternoon i was walking down the stairs in the dorm.
I had my computer in my backpack and my camera slung over my shoulder.
i made it safely down one flight of stairs.
The second flight wasnt so nice to me.
i slipped.
i immediately knew that i had sprained my ankle.
i knew because this is not the first time that i have suffered an ankle injury.

so. im sitting in the stairwell... stranded is a better word.
approximately 13 people walked by me.
only 2 of them talk to me.
Come on MC! have you ever heard the story of the Good Samaritan?
so im sitting there for about 30 minutes.
everyone was either gone, busy, in class, or passing me by.
Luke and Katherine came to the rescue.
Yes, Luke came in the girls dorm when he wasnt supposed to.
Luke Danger Campbell.

a few hours later Luke and I headed to Laurel.
my parents wanted me to come home so they could take care of me.
Luke came as my personal assistant/nurse.

before we left for Laurel, one of my best friends in the whole wide world just happened to be in Clinton for the weekend for a BSU conference.
instead of hanging out with her for an evening as planned, we spoke in the parking lot for 20 minutes.

Luke and I had a lovely "vacation" in Laurel.
we saw some friends on Friday and then watched Elizabethtown.
I love that movie.

i was limited in my activities because of the swollen sprained ankle.
we took it easy.
my grandmother made us lunch.

Brooke came over. She made me pastries. they were yummmy.
It was so lovely to see her.
we caught up.
Mr Luke played piano for us and we sang songs.

then.
Sicily came over.

i hadnt seen Miss Sicily in weeks.
we sat on the couch and watched the Blind Side.

it was a lovely evening with lovely friends.

church was wonderful this morning.
i saw my good friend Kerry Allen at lunch.
she's wonderful.

now i am back at school.
im dreading class.
im delaying homework.
thankfully, my workload decreases this week.

lets have a good week.
