My eyes couldn't be happier.
I may have to look into getting some reading glasses to help out these ole eyes because i read SO much.
Recently I just finished a paper that's been looming over my head since the beginning of the semester.
So that is something to celebrate about.
As soon as Mr. Luke gets out of class we will be celebrating Thanksgiving!
This past weekend an old friend who is now a better friend, a completely new friend (Megan and Randy) and I went to Citronelle, Alabama for our mutual friend Brian's youth retreat.
As the Bible Study leaders, we taught 4 different Bible Study lessons and each had our own group of kids.
It was an eventful and interesting weekend to say the least.
The thread that kept weaving its way through all of my lessons was that:
1. as Christians we are supposed to be set apart. We are supposed to look different
2. Christ is our example. We are to study his life, learn his character, and live like he did on the earth.
I think that the two tie together. Looking like Jesus will set you apart.
Those two threads have been running through my mind these past few weeks. I am not surprised that they made their way into my lessons.
Even as I have been going through the Old Testament, I am learning to look like Christ.
Its so crazy because the characters haven't even met Jesus yet.
They lived eons before Christ was born.
Of course he was there though because of that whole omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent thing. (God knows all, he is all powerful, and he is everywhere at all times)
I encourage you to look for common threads within your own spiritual life.
Look to see how things tie together.
If I had more time, I would write more about the characters in the Old Testament and how they show me how to look like Christ.
Maybe next time.
But honestly, I dont want you or I to miss the important nugget.
Look like Christ. He is our example.
