List: 7 New Spring Projects

I love planning ahead. 

Here are some new things that I would like to do this season!

I want to learn how to make different kinds of granny squares. I've been in the process of making a granny square crochet afghan for months now. I want to learn more!

Mr. Luke and I went to a flea market last week and found a ton of shutters!

I would love to do something like this for my apt. 

I want a jar full of these little guys for my office. 

These are so sweet and scream spring time!

Who doesn't love a clothespin?

I love wooden spoons. 

Its so easy. I know I can do it!

Dry Erase Markers

Cut out circles and use them for the number slots!

Decking the Halls: 2

I love the mantle in my house. Immediately when I saw it, I knew that I could do fun things for Christmas. 

My roommate, Vannah, had these awesome large glass jars. 

We put the excess tiny Christmas ornaments in these bad boys. 

The one on the far left has sparkly pinecones. Love it. 

The one in the middle is empty and the smallest one has the sparkly pinecones and some tiny green balls. 

Also, I had Mr. Luke exacto some more scrapbook paper onto smaller letters like the first "Deck the Halls with..." post. 

I wanted to spell out something that was random and unusual but still Christmas related. 

Glad Tidings. 

The Campbells donated this wreath and I am so glad that they did. I ran out of lights because I put them all on my tree. 

Instead of buying more lights, I stuck in some feathers that I snagged from Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago. Also, love it. 

There's my little mantle. 

The stick tree is another favorite. My mom got this for me at World Market one weekend in Birmingham. 

I kind of want to keep it up all year round. After all, its not all that Christmas-y right?

Decking the Halls: 1

Heres a fun little Christmas craft. I have been wanting to do this for a while now. This is one of those simple seen almost kind of everywhere crafts. I cannot take credit even though I wish I could. 

Materials Needed: 

Scrapbook Paper

Letters ( These are the thinner cardboard letters. They aren't the kind that stand up on their own) - make sure you spell it out right before you leave the store.  

Exacto Knife

Modge Podge 

Paint Brush

I am seriously considering leaving it up all year...

I definitely want to make more!

Keeping it Simple

I don't know how you are, but I am one of those people who like to display everything. Every little trinket that I have means a little something to me, and I want to see it every day. Basically I could be happy living in a little thrifty store with quirky things surrounding me. I am moving away from the see everything to know that its there mentality and moving towards a clean and simple look.

Plus, I read in an article a long time ago that the more clutter and things you have out, the more dust that collects and builds up and in turn becomes dirty and germy. So.... thats not what I want. 

Like many of you, I spend way too much time on Pinterest, but its justifiable because I always get really inspired to make something new. My decorating goals are for clean white, wood, and a little color thrown in. The challenge starts today for minimalistic design! 

I found these nifty little hooks on sale at Urban Outfitters while I was in Birmingham last weekend. I Mr. Luke is going to mount them on some wood and then onto the wall. I am so pumped!

We also have these little beauties. Mr. Luke got these for me a long time ago, but we haven't gotten to put them up anywhere yet. I plan to put these downstairs. 

 

Also, Fall is my favorite. 

This was a favorite outfit that I wore to work last week. I love my blue blazer. I felt like a preppy lumberjack.

I hope that you enjoy this randomocity. 

I put in hair extensions. This killed the desire within me to cut my hair. I need to have this long hair. 

My parents and I ventured off to the new Kroger in Madison. Its kind of ritzy. 

We ate lunch there.  

I've been drinking a lot of Hot Chocolate and pumpkin flavored drinks. 

I made this little guy. It hangs over my bed in my newplex. 

I learned how from this little tutorial.

New Cup

For my birthday Mr. Luke made me this Ah-Mazing coffee mug. 

That's right. He molded it with clay. Then did all of the cool process that goes along with making pottery. 

I want cabinets full of these. 

I am a lucky woman. 

Gift Wrap

Lately I have been doing a lot of exploring into gift wrap.

With Christmas coming up in almost 3 MONTHS I want to start planning what I want my gifts to look like. I have seen some of the cutest gift wrapping ideas from of course, Pinterest. I want to start gathering up stamps and postal paper!

This is actually one of mine. I started wrapping like this for Christmas, and then I added the paper flower element to it. 

This was Bec's birthday present.

Fall DIY

Hello! A few days ago, I put on my creativity hat and made a little fall-ish display. I love fall! Its my #1 favorite season. Fall colors are my favorite colors are year round. 

This was a fun little project to do and it only took me about 15 minutes. I love the outcome!

Supplies: 

Objects to wrap yarn around (vase, sugar shaker, and jar)

Fun yarn

Tape  - double stick tape works best

Scissors 

Wrap the tape around the bottom. I also tied a tiny knot to keep it secure.  

Start Wrapping!

Wrap the yarn around and around and around until it covers the jar (or whatever you choose to wrap up). I also put a piece of tape at the top and tied a tiny knot. 

Ta-Da!

My yarn did not lie perfectly across the jars and vase, but i really like the textured look. 

Its totally cool if your yarn sits on top of each other. 

Different shapes, like the vase, are a little difficult to wrap. On that one I had to tie knots in different places, but you can figure it out as you go.
