Ephesians.

I have been reading Ephesians.

Here are some standout verses

This verse stands out because this is how we should pray not only for other people, but for ourselves

"I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,

that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,

may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him

having the eyes of your heart enlightened,

that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you..."

Eph 1:16-18

I know that for me personally, if i prayed for wisdom in the way i communicate with others then i wouldnt be nervous after I say things.

Now more so than ever i need/want to be more intentional with my words.

If i prayed for revelation in my knowledge of Christ.... if we prayed for revelation in the knowledge of Christ.... being intentional with our words may not be a problem anymore... i dont know.

when i first read "having the eyes of your heart enlightened" i had to pause.

I mean lets just think about how beautiful that is.

i want the eyes of my heart to be enlightened.

I think that with that comes compassion... and basically everything lovely.

I need that.

"For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in

heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory

he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his

Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your

hearts through faith-- that you being rooted and grounded in love,

may have strength to comprehend with all the saints

what is the breadth and length

and the height and depth,

and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge

that you may be filled with all the fullness of Christ."

3:14-19

stunning scripture.

i want to be rooted and grounded in love.

i want to have love as my foundation.

not arrogance, not selfishness, not vanity... but love.

the breadth and length

the height and depth...

how big is Gods love for us? far too big for me to comprehend... duh.

but my prayer these days is that I begin to understand just a little portion of His love for me.

I also pray that the Lord becomes so real in my life that I cant see anything else other than Him.

final verse:

"now to him who is able to do more

abundantly than all we ask or think"

God is powerful.

Sometimes i forget.

How? im not sure.

i dont think i have to say anything else.
